Deep enquiry and thorough analysis
Hindu Dharma is another name for Vishwadharma. It was the Hindus who realised the truth of eternal values first and therefore called it ‘Hindu Dharma’. Interestingly, it is also called ‘Manavadharma Shastra’ by Manu in his treatise. Therefore, Vishwadharma and Hindu Dharma are one and the same.
In Hindu Dharma, anyone or anybody can realise the truths of the Upanishads anywhere on this earth without knowing the names of the enlightened Rishis who wrote them, as they are universal and applicable to all, independent of time and space. Whereas it is not so in other sects, where it’s preached that one would go to hell if he/she doesn’t follow the faith and methods of worship of God as preached by the founder of that particular sect and a certain book. As a result, they are best described as a ‘cult’ or ‘sect’ rather than a ‘dharma’ in the traditional sense. Comparing Hindu Dharma with other sects or cults would only lead to misconceptions.
